Blogger's Challenge - Week #14 - Spectrum Pad

This week's challenge is to use a spectrum pad. I haven't used these rainbow pads in a while and just happened to have a class using one last week.

This is a card that we made in my class using the new Snow wheel and Snow Burst stamp set. I used the resist technique with versamark on glossy cardstock. Then used a brayer and the blue frost spectrum pad. The center of the snowflake is a pearl from the Pretties kit.

The next card I made using the retired Stars and Swirls set and Lexicon of Love set. This is a birthday invitation for my friend's daughter who is turning 16. I used the versamark pad and resist technique on glossy cardstock.

Blogger's Challenge - Week #13 - Embossing

For this week's challenge we are to make a card that has an embossed component. I chose a card that I cased from a swap that I received at SU Leadership last Jan. I think this is my favorite embossing effect and looks very elegant.

The effect is acheived by using vanilla ink on vanilla cardstock with clear embossing powder. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get the same effect as the swap card that I received. When I used vanilla embossing powder on vanilla ink - the result was a much whiter embossed tree.

The tree is from the Lovely as a Tree set! A Stampin' Up classic!

Fall Card

I had a class last night on resist techniques. I haven't used that technique in quite a while. I really like the effect that you can acheive with resist.

The card on the left is a card that one of my sidelines made and brought to our group meeting this week. As most of you know, Doodle This is one my favorite new sets! I Cased that card and used a leaf design for the fall from the With Gratitude set for the resist class.

Blogger's Challenge - Week #12 - Inspiration

This week's blogger's challenge was to find something in our daily lives that inspires us - either in color combination or layout or symetry of the object.

I went around and around on what to use and finally settled on my chair that I use every day. It is funny how things around us are taken for granted and we never actually stop to look at the astetics of the item.

This is a Hitchcock chair that we inherited when cleaning out a Great Aunt's house. I have always loved the detail of the painting on the back of the chair and thought that I would use that for my inspiration.

So I created this card using the Apple Cider designer papers and the Give Thanks Fall set. I didn't have a stamp with a bowl of frit so used the pail of apples instead. Enjoy!

Blogger's Challenge - Week #11

This week's challenge was to copy the layout of the card in the Holiday mini catalog on page 12.

I found this one fun to do and used the new Simply Scrappin' Hostess Kit for this challenge. The difficult part for me was not using my stamps but using the pre-adhesive die cuts that come in the kit in place of stamped images!

I do love the new In color line and how well everything coordinates! Here are a couple of variations on the star card in the holiday mini catalog on pg. 12.

Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Dinner

This is a sample menu and place cards that I made with the Applie Cider paper from the Holiday Mini catalog. This would be great for a Holiday table!

Holiday Rehearsal Dinner

This invitation was designed for a rehearsal dinner that was held at the Cape Cod Museum of Fine Arts.
We used Anna Griffin designer paper to make the envelope. The invitation is made with mellow moss and rose red cardstock. The invitation is printed on very vanilla.

Fall Card Set

This was a funeral program that we designed using Lovely as a Tree set.
The matching card was made with Mellow Moss Cardstock and Really rust.

Halloween Wedding Invitation

This was my favorite wedding invitation. This couple was planning their wedding for Halloween. They were looking for a custom Halloween design.

The black and purple textured cardstocks were purchased at Michaels. Web Wishes was used to stamp the spider web on the black textured cardstock with silver embossing powder.

The actual invitation was printed on vellum and layered over the purple textured cardstock.

Burgandy weddding invite with a Mulberry wrap

This is a beautiful invitation that was designed for a fall wedding.
This invitation is printed on vellum and embossed. It is mounted on very vanilla cardstock and a square burgandy background. It is finished off with a burgandy mulberry wrap and a seal printed on very vanilla.
Over the years we have made this invitation in burgandy, silver and white.

Wedding Announcements - Fall Leaves

These are various items that I have made over the past couple of years for Yours Truly in Chelmsford. If you are looking for invitations for any event then stop by Yours Truly in Chelmsford, MA! They have everything from traditional invitations or will work with you to design a custom card.

These are a couple of examples that were designed for fall weddings using the leaves from simple sketches and the botanicals stamp sets.

Both use elegant eggplant Cardstock as the base, very vanilla with vellum layered on top. The vellum is printed on the computer and embossed with clear embossing powder. The leaves are stamped in more mustard, old olive, close to cocoa and summer sun inks on the vanilla cardstock below the vellum.

Baby Announcements

I have had several people ask about baby announcements over the last couple of days. These are a couple of prototypes that were designed for my nephew Adam last year! My sister-in-law choose the card on the bottom left. THe card was made with the I'm Here stamp set and the rattle rather than the onesie. Splash designer paper was used for these cards.

Blogger's Challenge - Week #10

This was a fun challenge! I absolutely love the Apple Cider designer paper in the Holiday mini catalog!!

This week's challenge was to copy the pull out card made with the cute train set on page 92 of the catalog. I thought that I would use a halloween theme for the season.
This card is made with the following supplies:
Wild Wasabi Cardstock
Apple Cider designer paper
Elegant Eggplant
Pumpkin Pie
Sahara Sand
I used the Booglie Eyes Halloween set with the watercolor pencils. The 1 3/8" square punch and hodgepodge hardware for the embellishments! I love this card!
